Pawnee Arts formed in 2011 and opened its’ first show in 2012 with “Get Smart,” a low budget comedy. Two performances utilized 30 local youth. The presentation was well received. We worked right along and in 2013, we put on our second show up, “Willy Wonka.” Our numbers grew and because of this, Pawnee Arts hit the road to Cushing, Oklahoma. Then in 2014, we grew even more to a baffling number of 50 local youth as we put on “Little Red– Life in the Hood.” We went on in 2015 to put on two shows, “Beauty and the Beast” and “Magic Tree House: Knights at Dawn,” and sped forward to the year 2016, our biggest year yet with SIX plays/musicals. These included “February Follies,” “Oklahoma!,” “Aladdin Kids,” “Shrek JR.,” “The Foreigner,” and “A Christmas Carol.” Now, with our 2017 year, we have had a successful showing of “Cat in the Hat” and are ready to put on our next musical, “Jungle Book Kids!” Here at Pawnee Arts, we want to support and teach local youth and adults. Theatre is our medium. Join us as we spread our art!
